While inspecting a wharf, young Amano, president of an urban planning company, meets beautiful laborer Takako and falls in love at first sight. However, she does not return his affections, so he steals her ID card and goes on the run from the infuriated Takako.
Director biography
Kiyoshi KUROSAWA, born in Kobe in 1955, currently belongs to Japan’s most famous directors. His international breakthrough came with CURE (1997). For TOKYO SONATA, he was awarded the Prix Un Certain Regard 2008 in Cannes. KUROSAWA also works as a professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts, Graduate School of Film and New Media.

Akira works as an assistant at the very institute that gives the film its title. Most of his work is bureaucratic drudgery, so he is gradually losing his enthusiasm. Full of irony and precise observations on social disasters, this film is a promising debut from a talented newcomer.
Director biography
Yuichiro SAKASHITA, born in Hiroshima 1986, studied first at Osaka University of Arts, later at Tokyo University of the Arts. He began his career as a director with his short film BEATLES in 2011, winning an award at Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. KANAGAWA UNIVERSITY OF FINE ARTS, OFFICE OF FILM RESEARCH is his graduation film as well as his first feature film.
