1988: Toma, aged 17, lives with his father and his father’s mistress in a village by the river. His father has a violent trait: he beats women while having sex, which is why Tomaʼs mother left home shortly after giving birth to him. Toma has hated his father, but comes to realize that the very same blood, the beastly nature, also runs inside him.
