Nippon Animation

Animated films dominated the Japanese box office in 2013. It was also a terrific year for indie anime projects with production companies diversifying their approach to funding by turning to crowdfunding and online platforms. NIPPON ANIMATION presents a selection of some of the most ambitious creative projects. Part of the program is the pet project SHORT PEACE by manga-ka and anime legend Katsuhiro OTOMO, a retrospective of Koji YAMAMURA's work and the film version of the original net animation PATEMA INVERTED. JVTA is sponsoring a very special screening of Nagisa OSHIMAs manga-film from '67: BAND OF NINJA.
