Nippon Visions

The NIPPON VISIONS section introduces a wide range of Japanese films of different formats. These pure and raw visions reflect social undercurrents of people who are likely to be abandoned. Even if Japan is a wealthy nation, considerable disparities still remain. It's not only challenging but also important to explore dreams and reality in these difficult times. This can educate us about universal human emotions and insights.

For the fifth time, a jury will award the most promising director of a feature length film with a free subtitling for an upcoming project. The NIPPON VISIONS JURY AWARD is made possible through our partner and sponsor Japan Visualmedia Translation Academy (JVTA). For the first time, the audience can choose the best film for the NIPPON VISIONS AUDIENCE AWARD, which is sponsored with 1,000 € by the Japanese Culture Center in Frankfurt.
