Maybe you already knew: in Japan, they don’t write the ABC. Instead, they have mysterious characters which look like a secret language. They don’t only announce the latest news in the papers - carefully written with a brush on paper, they are real art: calligraphy. Don’t be afraid! After some explanations by Ryoko MATSUMOTO, the writing will not seem that strange anymore, especially if you take the brush in your hand. And there it is: you have written your first Japanese syllable or even an entire word.
